External Candidates Position Location This position will be located in Salem with occasional travel to agency field offices. What you will do The primary purpose of this position is to analyze, develop or enhance agency developed desktop and web applications with an emphasis on geographic/spatial data presentation. In support of this, the position will use a variety of tools and software to code, debug and test developed applications. This position will also query databases for data sets to be displayed within applications or distributed in reports, spreadsheets and maps. This position will collaboratively define agency application development standards and practices. This position will work closely with other IS staff and give direction to junior application developers. This position will work directly with customers, vendors and technical staff from other agencies as needed. This position will report to the IS Manager and be largely self-directed. This position will help support the Department’s information services and platforms, as called for in the state’s 2017 Integrated Water Resources Strategy by keeping complicated system infrastructure running and available for staff and the public. OR (b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND three (3) years of information systems experience in: Software and/or Web Application Development. Geographic Information Systems development or administration. OR (c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in: Software and/or Web Application Development.
