Below is a message from Debbie Blackmore, President of the GIS Club, PSU's student chapter of ASPRS: Welcome to the GIS Club, PSU's student chapter of ASPRS. As president for the 2014-2015 academic year, let me personally invite you and interested faculty and students at your institutions to join us. The official purpose of PSU's chapter is to "...provide opportunities and activities for professional development to further student technical and theoretical application of the science and study of photogrammetry and remote sensing as it applies to geospatial technology and geographical research." Unofficially, we share all things ASPRS including GIS, remote sensing, LiDAR, imagery, photogrammetry, etc. This year, planned events and activities include our speaker series / "colloquium", (which we host twice or so each academic quarter), activities for GIS Day (Nov 19) and other social events (dates and locations TBD). In the spring, we plan to coordinate student volunteer activities for GIS in Action 2015 to be held in the Portland/Vancouver area. Other educational and community involvement projects are being considered. Your ideas and energy are welcome. For faculty or students interested in learning more, see the NOTE below. ======================================================================================= NOTE: To receive announcements from PSU's chapter of ASPRS, please subscribe to one or both distribution lists below.
