This position is full time and located at the department headquarters in Salem, OR. This limited duration position is scheduled to end on or before June 30, 2021. This position may be extended beyond this date. Limited duration appointments are regular status and benefits eligible.

What you will do:
In this position, you will work with a team of like-minded professionals to make the Oregon outdoor experience even better. Working with our GIS team, you will be responsible for mapping and verifying the physical infrastructure at our parks. This will help Parks staff deliver services to the public and allow Parks employees to spend more time outdoors improving parks. This job combines field work with office work. You will be ensuring our digital records of infrastructure in the parks are up to date and accurate. In this role you will:

• Coordinate with park staff and other GIS staff to arrange for ground truthing existing data and collecting additional data
• Ensure integration of data with existing park mapping data
• Coordinate software development efforts to create a seamless, standard set of tools for our end users
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive work place

What we are looking for (Desired Attributes):

• Field survey experience
• Experience using ARC GIS to collect, map, and analyze data
• Experience working with geographic/spatial data including: needs analysis, data modeling, software construction, data analysis, data collection and data validation
• Experience providing technical support for GIS Applications
• Experience training or presenting technical information to non-technical audiences

Minimum Qualifications:
Three (3) years of information systems experience in ARC GIS or similar geospatial software package
OR An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
OR Completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND one (1) year of information systems experience in: ARC GIS or similar geospatial software package.
