TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT / Not to exceed 1500 hours annually
FLSA – Non-exempt
Hourly rate $11.00-$12.00

Description of Duties:
The Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking a GIS (Geographic Information System) Intern to assist the Department GIS program. The intern will assist with GIS data collection and data management tasks associated with grasslands restoration prioritization. Prepares maps for stakeholder meetings. May assist with the maintenance and development of web-based GIS applications. Ensures data quality through QA/QC and documentation. Student will perform duties under supervision.

Tentative start date will be mid-to-late February.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The student must be currently enrolled in a curriculum leading to a Bachelor's or Post-Baccalaureate degree on a substantially full-time basis (usually 12 semester hours) and must be pursuing a major field of study closely related to GIS, geography, wildlife/fisheries or environmental studies with a demonstrated interest in GIS. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS 10.x Suite and Microsoft Office Suite. The candidate will have strong communication, mathematical and computer skills, be detail oriented, thorough and well organized. Requires possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable
driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative
Code R2-10-207.12.).
