Job Summary Seeking a superstar for the City of Salem GIS team! The City of Salem enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support group, part of the Information Technology Department, seeks a talented, highly motivated GIS intern to join our team. If you have a passion for learning new technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving, then the City of Salem IT Department is the place for you. The GIS team provides skilled, professional support of the City's GIS, mapping, and big data solutions. The GIS intern will work closely with both a mentor and with senior GIS technical staff to develop professional and technical skill sets. The GIS internship experience is hands-on and will include contributions to meaningful, real-world projects in support of City of Salem business service areas. GIS interns also support the Enterprise GIS team through a variety of tasks, including data cleanup and conversion, integration of ESRI web solutions, and design and development of GIS centric internal and external application solutions.
