Job Title: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Internship Closing Date/Time: Sun. 08/04/19 5:00 PM Pacific Time Salary: $17.00 Hourly Job Type: Internship Location: 600 NE Grand Ave, Portland, Oregon One paid internship opportunity available Metro encourages applications from individuals of all backgrounds in order to foster a community of diversity, unique life experiences and points of view. Schedule commitment: flexible; 25-40 hours per week Duration: 800 hours Metro's Planning and Development works and engages with the public about the challenges and opportunities of community livability, development, growth and change over the long term. The department works to anticipate and respond to regional and national economic, demographic, and financial trends impacting our region's ability to accomplish the vision of the 2040 Growth Concept. This internship will provide an opportunity to collaborate and learn from a team of professional planners and public involvement specialists on a variety of regional planning projects in Metro's Planning & Development Departments. The intern selected for this position will gain valuable experience in policy development, system planning, project planning and will have tangible products from the experience to assist in moving into a professional position in the field.
