GIS Software Developer – Portland, OR

About the Position 
The GIS Software Developer will support the development of custom software including desktop, web and mobile applications.  In this role you will perform the following tasks:
  • Develop GIS software using a range of technologies and platforms including GIS, GPS and database technologies
  • Support in-house web, mobile and database products using innovative approaches and emerging technologies
  • Work with project teams to design, develop, deliver and support applications for our clients
  • Build custom software applications using standard software development environments including Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc.
  • Design and develop end-user software using commercial off the shelf (COTS) and open source  geospatial tools and environments including ArcGIS, Python, ArcPad, FME workbench, MS Access, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Developer, etc.
 
About You
To excel in the position of Geospatial Application Developer, you should possess the following skills and experience:
  • Passion for software development, for embracing emerging technologies and developing innovative solutions to challenging problems (required)
  • Software development experience with .NET or Java (required)
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience (required)
  • Familiarity with mobile (native and cross platform) and web mapping  applications (desired)
  • Experience with commercial and/or open source GIS software (desired)
  •  Experience with relational database design, development and maintenance (desired)
  •  Experience with relational database design, development and maintenance (desired)  
  • Coursework or equivalent experience in geography, geology or natural resource related field (desired)
