GIS SPECIALIST

​Job Summary and Scope:
Provide expert guidance and solutions to ATG’s Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) clients, optimizing their Geographic Information System (GIS) processes through cutting-edge technology. This full-time, salaried consulting position entails a commitment of approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with potential travel outside regular business hours.
In this role, you will be instrumental in comprehending the unique requirements of our clients in the GIS sector within the AEC industry. ATG specializes in delivering solutions that significantly enhance productivity and profitability, ultimately empowering our clients with a distinct competitive advantage in their respective market.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assists clients in determining survey and mapping needs and the most effective collection methods and technologies to meet those needs.
• Operates mapping and database software packages, including ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123, ArcGIS Dashboards, and related tools such as Geodatabases.
• Develops or customizes system configurations of moderately complex geospatial applications based on geospatial knowledge, the project requirements, and an understanding of client needs.
• Creation and maintenance of GIS data layers in Geodatabases, and conversion of data from multiple sources and types.
• Serves as a technical resource in the application of one or more geospatial platforms, such as ESRI and Autodesk.
• Conduct spatial analysis to derive meaningful insights and patterns.
• Maintain documentation and metadata for GIS datasets.
• Codes, tests, debugs, and configures solutions at a moderate difficulty level.
• Stay current with GIS technologies and best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, IT, Engineering.
• 2 years related experience with a relevant bachelor’s degree, or 6 years related experience in lieu of education.
• 2+ years’ Python development experience, with specific experience in ArcGIS API for Python, Pandas, Arcpy.
• Expertise in the development of applications using ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS.
• Knowledge in the operation of mapping and database software packages, including ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123, ArcGIS
• Dashboards, and related tools such as Geodatabases.
• Knowledge of GIS standards, terms, principles, mapping, and analysis skills.
• Experience with the ArcGIS API for JavaScript (4.x).

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Knowledge of remote sensing and GPS technologies.
• Experience using C#/.NET web applications.
• Certifications in GIS (e.g., ESRI certification) may be advantageous.
