GIS Specialist
This position will serve as the primary GIS Specialist for the City of Ellensburg.  Perform GIS support for City staff using the GIS applications and systems.  The GIS Specialist will maintain and support the City’s enterprise GIS effort.  Create, edit, and support the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) GIS Applications and geo forms.  Import/export AutoCAD drawings to/from GIS system.  Enter/import data from Microsoft Excel and Access databases into GIS system. Customize GIS system to support users. Print maps as requested and assist ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, and enterprise geodatabase systems and software.

This is a full-time position.  If regular City of Ellensburg employees covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Ellensburg and OPEIU apply by the internal closing date they will be given first consideration.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four year college with a degree in Geography, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

​Special Requirements
Must be physically capable of moving about on construction sites. Valid State driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment; maintain insurable driving record; obtain and maintain first aid and CPR certification. Prior to employment applicants are required to pass a background check and must not have any felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories within the past seven years; applicant must complete a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) training exam within 3 months of their hire date.
