Employer: BLM Open & closing dates: 09/29/2017 to 10/05/2017 Salary: $49,765 to $64,697 per year Pay scale & grade: GS 09 Location: Prineville, OR https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/480914400 Responsibilities The incumbent implements analytical techniques needed to solve various procedural and factual geospatial and GIS issues; Digitizes geographic information by translating raw land-based data into code; Analyzes cumulative impacts of frequently measured environmental factors and conducts 3/D spatial analysis and geospatial modeling; Carries out geospatial databases and implements quality control for geospatial data project; Provides user support and troubleshooting assistance for problems related to GIS hardware and application software; Collaborates with a diverse group of local resources specialists, planners, and managers to coordinate and implement local GIS activities; Promotes an integrated training program to teach basic skills in geospatial software, data acquisition, and retrieval and analysis. For GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-07 in the federal service, or a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related. You will need to clearly state your undergraduate/graduate degree(s) and submit your college transcripts or a listing of your college courses that includes hours and grades. Qualifications Specialized Experience Requirements: In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade of the position to be filled. Examples: Analyze and integrate geospatial data; Perform GIS distance analysis and overlay analysis; Develop geo-databases; Create maps digitally, Develop and present training presentation on GIS information, Perform land use planning to include Outdoor recreation planning, environmental impact analysis, rangeland management, wildlife management; Provide user support for ArcGIS functions, and work with other specialists on GIS project objectives.
