Position Title: GIS Specialist Job Description: Do you have IT experience and a passion for the outdoors? Do you have skills with GIS tools? This position falls under the classification Information Systems Specialist 4. What you will do: As a GIS Specialist, you will utilize current GIS tools to assist Oregon State Parks in collecting, correcting and improving the data sets available in support of the archeology and heritage programs. You will provide customers with current data, reduce duplication of field work efforts and ensure the agency is targeting resources to ensure best practices in the preservation of history and stories of all cultures that have existed in Oregon. Minimum Qualifications: (a) Three (3) years of information systems experience with GIS. OR (b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or a related field; AND One (1) year of information systems experience with GIS. OR (c) A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. The State of Oregon is requiring all executive branch employees to complete their COVID-19 vaccination series by October 18, 2021 unless the employee receives a medical or religious exception.
