DEA’s Marine Services Division is searching for a GIS Specialist / GIS Technician who will be responsible for specification, development, integration and implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technologies for various clients.  This position will be located in our Vancouver, WA office.  Responsibilities include, data transfer and rectification, database integration and management, GIS application development, client needs assessment , scoping, GIS Standards coordination, GIS training and other related activities in support of the Marine Services Division and its clients. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Surveying, or other technically related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of hands on technical experience with geospatial technology.
• Extensive experience with ESRI Suite of products, including ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online.
• Must be detailed oriented and enjoy working in a consulting environment.
• Excited about emerging geospatial technology.
• Advanced knowledge of geodesy, mapping projections, coordinate transformations, and GPS.
• Basic knowledge of standard surveying practices, field data collection, and related software.
• Strong database management skills, knowledge of Oracle or SQL Server are preferred.
• Experience with common scripting/programming languages preferred (e.g. Python, JavaScript, vb.Net, HTML5).
• Comfortable working across multiple software platforms.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Microstation.
• Lidar processing experience preferred.
• Sonar or Marine experience is a plus
• Remote Sensing and classification experience preferred.
