The City of Tigard has an exciting opportunity for a full time GIS Technician. If you are a detailed worker with GIS experience, work well in teams as well as individually, and take initiative, please consider joining our team.

The position will work with the city's enterprise GIS team on GIS analysis, mapping, data maintenance, and web mapping application configuration. This position provides excellent opportunity to work with the city's enterprise web mapping application on a daily basis. The city has a robust enterprise GIS –providing great opportunities for mapping and GIS analytical support to city departments. GIS data editing/maintenance experience with ESRI products as well as experience with web mapping applications (or closely related) is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

• Equivalent to the completion of a two-year degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in geography, computer science, or related field AND
• Two (2) years of experience in GIS data development and cartography.
• Experience and/or specialized training in the ArcGIS program is preferred.
