GIS TECHNICIAN

Hart Crowser, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary earth and environmental consulting firm headquartered in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Our staff of engineers and scientists provide a wide range of services, from initial site studies through regulatory permitting, design, and construction oversight. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced GIS Technician to support the firm’s natural resources, environmental and engineering consulting services.  The GIS Technician will be responsible for leading the continuing development, integration and implementation of the firm’s GIS technologies. This individual’s daily activities will involve a variety of tasks, including data collection, development and maintenance of the firm’s geodatabase, modeling and production of maps using GIS and CAD software.

We are seeking an individual with a BA/BS in Geography or GIS, or advanced training in GIS, and 2-5 years of GIS work experience, preferably within a professional services firm. The successful candidate will possess:

• Strong database skills, especially in ArcGIS geodatabase;
  
• Strong SQL or Python scripting skills;
  
• CAD experience, including working knowledge of AutoCAD;
  
• Familiarity with gINT and/or RockWorks;
  
• Working knowledge of Geospatial and 3D data analysis;
  
• High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite and Internet research;
  
• The ability to generate map layouts and set up templates;
  
• Experience managing and performing QA/QC measures on large data files; and
  
• Familiarity with subsurface, natural resources and environmental data (e.g. groundwater plume modeling, contaminant/chemistry data).
  

Responsibilities of this role will require a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to identify and implement processes for greater efficiency.  The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment is critical.
