Watershed Sciences Inc (WSI) is in search of an individual to fill a full-time, regular position for a Remote Sensing Field Technician. This is a unique opportunity perfect for someone who enjoys the excitement and challenges of a dynamic work environment. The responsibilities for this position encompass all aspects of LiDAR and other remote sensing data acquisitions. The position will support airborne data collection operations throughout the U.S. and requires extensive travel with field rotations often lasting up to two weeks in duration throughout the year. We are looking for an individual with the ability to be successful working independently, as well as, in a team setting. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with excellent decision making and problem solving abilities, computer proficiency, and an interest in GIS and remote sensing. An understanding of geospatial concepts and GPS survey methods is a desired, but not mandatory as on-the-job training will be provided to the employee. Prior experience with field data collection is also a benefit. Successful applicants will be comfortable flying in a small fixed-wing aircraft over diverse topography. Consequently, an airplane ride along may be scheduled in the interview process. A successful candidate will have a 4-year degree from a physical/ biological science, engineering program or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.5. A valid driver's license is required.
