This position is housed under the Department of Human Services (DHS)/Shared Services. Positions within Shared Services provide services to DHS and OHA. This employment opportunity is with the Budget, Planning and Analysis, which is part of the Department of Human Services. There are two full-time limited duration positions located in Salem (Summer St NE). One of these positions will spend 1-2 days a week working in Portland. The anticipated duration of one position is 17 months, while the other position is 24 months from date of hire. These positions are represented by a union. Duties & Responsibilities The primary purpose of this position is to maintain/improve the accuracy, timeliness, and utility of program location data. As time allows and need arises, the position may be called upon to provide advice, analysis, and mapping services. This position supports the assigned DHS|OHA program areas by collecting and validating data, analyzing and interpreting the data, and assisting DHS analysts, policy makers, and field managers to understand, work with, and utilize location data. This position works under the guidance of the Lead GIS Functional Expert for DHS|OHA, although the incumbent will be expected to exercise independent judgment in working with internal and external staff, and in creating and implementing appropriate documentation, processes, controls, and timelines.
