This highly technical role will use your expertise to build, implement, and manage the ArcGIS and ArcGIS Hub systems. While your work is focused on creating a stable and scalable GIS architecture and application environment, your influence and impact is far reaching. You are a leader, innovator, and change maker improving the lives of all Washingtonians and creating a model of inclusion that moves the needle toward equity for all. You’ll engage the community, increase transparency, and address challenges of accessible participation, governance, and resource sharing. You’ll partner with geospatial professionals across the agencies, sectors, and communities on GIS software development, methodologies, and best practices. And you’ll be part of a passionate and talented impact and accountability team supporting state agencies in operationalizing EQUITY to achieve equitable outcomes in all 15 Determinants of Equity!

Duties
​Primary Functions
Some of the primary ways our Statewide Spatial Equity Analyst will contribute to advancing the work of realizing a barrier-free Washington by:
 

1. Build and implement ArcGIS Hub services engaging the community, providing training to increase transparency and feedback, and addressing the challenges of accessible participation, governance, and resource sharing.
2. Partner with subject matter experts to provide guidance, consultation, and training on GIS software development, methodologies, and best practices to ensure products and processes are equitable statewide. 
3. Develop, implement, document, and continuously improve quality standards, processes, and procedures to maintain the integrity of equity related GIS applications and databases.
4. Create and maintain a stable and scalable GIS architecture and application environment that supports public facing GIS applications and geospatial data statewide and assess the impact of new requirements. 
5. Lead the implementation, maintenance, and support of GIS application environments and enhancements determining the scope, strategy, and architecture and developing programming standards, guidelines, and best practices.
6. Conduct business and systems analysis to design, develop, document, test, deploy, and support critical business functions and custom EQUITY GIS applications supporting the statewide operationalization of EQUITY for Washington. 
7. Manage projects serving as technical expert in developing and analyzing complex spatial database and dataset structures, transformation, configurations, and optimization of integration, versioning, security and archiving.
8. Oversee the installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of complex ESRI GIS software components providing expert level consultation and guidance to diagnose problems and recommend solutions. 
9. Lead the design, development, and implementation of enhancements to increase functionality evaluating requests, analyzing alternatives, and recommending effective approaches and solutions.
