Are you studying geomatics or land surveying and interested in public service? If so, ODOT wants you! Come join our team as a survey intern in White City through our popular College Internship Program. In this role you will keep project records, perform engineering calculations, assist the survey crew chief, and gain valuable experience to help you achieve a career in land surveying.
 
The College Internship Program is designed to allow students matriculating through an accredited post-secondary program the opportunity to gain practical experience. We are accepting applications from students in accredited undergraduate degree programs who will have completed their freshman year as of June 2018.

Additional Details:

• The length of this assignment will be up to 1,040 hours depending on workload.
• Work schedule will be 40 hours per week, with possible overtime as needed. A typical schedule is four 10-hour days, Monday-Thursday.
• This is a summer internship.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Keep accurate and complete project records.
• Perform engineering calculations to determine elevations, coordinates, areas, earthwork quantities, circular and spiral curve data, distances, and establish highway alignments.
• Assist survey crew chief with processing field notes and data collected from topographic surveys.
• Assist survey crew chief with performing field surveys related to construction staking, topographic mapping, monumentation, retracements, and control.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be an undergraduate college student studying geomatics or land surveying whose freshman year will be completed by June 2018.
