Technical Marketing Specialist w/ ESRI

We’re seeking an advanced GIS technologist to help champion best practices for GIS in colleges and universities worldwide. Responsibilities:

• Work with leading educators and Esri colleagues to help define the future of GIS in the rapidly evolving higher education sector
• Create compelling demonstrations and presentations to help educators envision and implement progressive GIS curricula
• Develop prototypes for innovative applications of GIS in education, such as web map integration with e-books and e-learning environments
• Work with higher education administrators and Esri colleagues to define work flows, identify process improvements, and articulate business advantages of GIS in campus facilities management
• Support the efforts of Esri’s development team by helping drive product requirements and participating in holistic testing efforts

 
Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s in GIS, computer science, or a related field, depending on position level
• Demonstrated ability to develop innovative applications using Esri technology
• Understanding of the higher education industry’s characteristics, business needs, and culture
• Understanding of the current and prospective roles of GIS in higher education
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of ArcGIS
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally

 
Recommended Qualifications:
Experience designing, developing, and implementing IT systems
