INTERNSHIP: Riparian Habitat and Forest Ecosystem Restoration

There are two internships available at the World Resources Institute; both have the potential to become full-time positions depending on performance and funding. The internships are in support of the Southern Forests for the Future, a project focusing on identifying changes and trends in southeastern US forests. A study in the Tyron Watershed that assess the current condition of Macroinvertebrates that uses Maps as a way to visually display characteristics of survey sites and catalog data at each of the sites. Liz Callison (in GEO 265 class) was the project lead - any questions about the assesment and how maps were used can be directed to Liz. The City of Hillsboro is recruiting university students to inventory the street tree canopy in Hillsboro, Oregon. This inventory will help lay the foundation for an Urban Forestry Management Program.
