Position Summary: 

This position interprets, designs and creates maps for various Kroger Enterprise projects, which highly impact the growth of the company. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Acts as a liaison between Kroger Enterprise locations and the Corporate Development Research Department; gathers information needed to design and create demographic and thematic maps of varying types and sizes used in Real Estate and marketing analysis for Kroger Enterprise projects. 
  • Interprets designs, and creates, from raw digital data, aerial photography mapping used for various Kroger Enterprise Real Estate Projects.
  • Interprets, designs, and creates Source of Volume and Market Share maps to be used in Kroger Enterprise site location, remodel, enlargement, and competitor acquisition volume projection reports.
  • Assists in interpretation, design, and creation of Customer spotting maps using loyalty card data.
  • Completes other projects, as assigned.

Requirements
Minimum Position Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Geography, G.I.S. or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to preserve confidential information.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects. 
  • Be comfortable with Internet applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, MapInfo, MapMarker and Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.) Technology.
  • Ability to work in detail with maps and other visual effects. 

Desired Previous Job Experience
  • Production of maps using G.I.S. technology.

Effective with the release of this position announcement, Winrock International is recruiting applicants for Program Associate/GIS Analyst.

This position within the Ecosystem unit is responsible for development and analyses of spatial databases, design and implementation of user interfaces, integration of field and other ancillary spatial data into GIS, remote sensing (RS) image processing and analysis, and organization and archiving of Ecosystem Services GIS related work products.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience and a BA degree with demonstrated coursework in the application of GIS techniques to issues in ecosystem ecology, forestry, natural resource management or a closely related field; must have demonstrated experience in the application of spatial analysis to land use, land use change or land planning; ability to work and train using GIS/Image processing software packages. Travel to remote locations, both domestically and internationally is possible. Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States.

The City of Wilsonville GIS department is seeking to continue its GIS Intern program during the summer of 2012. The Intern(s) will be responsible for a variety of projects that may include the collection of City infrastructure for the City's asset management program, Cartegraph, development of various components of the City's GIS website, cartographic product production, and other GIS projects and initiatives.

The team(s) will have the opportunity to work closely with the City's GIS Manager as well as other city staff, yet also independently develop the work plan and daily schedule that best meets the goals for the summer.

Past intern projects have included support for the update of the City's Transportation System Plan (TSP), inclusion of the SMART transit system in Google Transit, and GPS field inventories of city signage, fire hydrants and the stormwater system.

Ideal Candidates will have experience using GIS in a local government or comparable setting. Senior level college students or recent graduates pursuing a GIS certificate and/or career are strongly encouraged to apply.
