About the Position The City of Grants Pass GIS Division facilitates geospatial data for every city department along with providing exceptional service to citizens, developers, clients, and various local, state, or federal agencies. A GIS Technician updates tabular and spatial records, produces and maintains various forms of geospatial data, including but not limited to mobile aps, web maps and custom prints. As a technician with the City of Grants Pass you will be responsible for website/portal updates and fielding citizen/client requests. A tech is also expected to keep a positive attitude and engage a variety of internal departments in order to maintain a robust and accurate GIS database. The preferred candidate will be able to adapt to a wide range of varied workflow, be self-motivated in pursuing proficiency within their field and eager to provide exceptional customer service to our many clients. If have questions about this role please email: humanresources@grantspassoregon.gov Minimum Qualifications An Associate's Degree in a related field and two years of experience in GIS and database management are required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed in the job description. Must be proficient in ArcGIS Pro. Preference will be given to those with experience in specialized toolsets like Topology Rules, Utility Networks, Attribute Rules, and/or using ESRI’s Arcade or Python language. The Washington Department of Ecology is excited to announce two GIS positions with the Washington State National Hydrography (WA-NHD) mapping team. These positions will be directly involved with researching best methods of mapping hydrography for a future statewide update. This is a two-year State funded project.
Work will include assessing Lidar derived hydrography, editing NHD, and working with local stakeholders and data. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a nationally recognized pilot project.
