Job opportunity with the State of Oregon:
Boating Facility Planning and Mapping Coordinator (Operations and Policy Analyst 1) Description Do you have training or experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Microsoft Access databases? Are you a positive, energetic, upbeat person? Do you have a willingness to learn new things? If you answered yes, please apply now for this opportunity to join the Oregon State Marine Board! The Marine Board is dedicated to making the state's waterways safe and enjoyable for a wide range of recreationists and it's our mission to serve Oregon's recreational boating public through education, enforcement, access, and environmental stewardship for a safe and enjoyable experience. We do not own or operate any boating access facilities. We are funded by registration fees and marine fuel taxes paid by motorized boaters. No general fund tax dollars are used to support the agency or its programs. Boater-paid fees go back to boaters in the form of marine law enforcement services, boating safety education, environmental programs, and boating access facilities. What you will do! You will provide research and analytical support for the Boating Facilities program by reading planning and technical documents, drafting comments regarding the potential effect to recreational boating and waterways. You will be using GIS to process a variety of geospatial data, create data, custom maps, shape files related to boating and updating program datasets. For a complete listing of the duties and responsibilities for these positions please review the position description by clicking here (Download PDF reader). What's in it for you! Be part of a small positive collaborative work unit where the focus is on recreational boating access. You will learn where all the waterbodies are in Oregon and how boaters recreate. We offer full medical, vision and dental benefits with paid sick leave, vacation, personal leave and 10 paid holidays a year. Comments are closed.
