The PositionThe City of Lake Oswego is offering an exciting opportunity for a land surveying / geomatics or civil engineering student as a temporary summer intern! Under general direction of the City Engineer or City Surveyor, this position will provide assistance to engineering staff, including both office and fieldwork. Assignments may range from data entry and analysis to fieldwork, of which the candidate must be able to perform in both environments. The work requires knowledge and application of basic surveying and engineering principles commensurate with 1-2 years of college-level studies. Self-motivation, positive attitude, and good communication are key qualifications for the successful candidate to possess. This position is full time (40 hours a week) with a duration of approximately three to four months. The position schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The assignment is generally from June through August or September, with a flexible start date. Hourly rate will depend on qualifications and will be in the range of $17.00 - $20.00.
