Job Details
Detailed Description:
  • Works with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.x and ArcGIS Pro suite of GIS applications
  • Produce maps and figures for publication in technical reports
  • Perform GIS analysis
  • Adhere to and modify a structured data management plan
  • Develop and maintain spatial data schemas, including coordination of schema changes among multiple project stakeholders
  • Coordinate program-level data management activities, including maintenance, sharing, and distribution of authoritative spatial and tabular data stores
  • Work closely with other technical staff and client service managers to provide technical input on geospatial analysis, including appropriate GIS technology recommendations for projects in the US
  • Maintain GIS metadata to meet FGDC compliance standards
  • Package and distribute GIS data to internal and external stakeholders
  • Convert CAD data to GIS and vice versa
  • Collaborate with project teams in developing approaches to improve data collection, management and delivery methods using geospatial analysis and GIS technology
  • Develop high quality work products, demonstrating data outputs with visual clarity for the end user
  • Provide data management, including outputs formatted for team and client users, linking directly to GIS and other reporting and visual platforms
  • Demonstrate ability to consistently implement company GIS standards
  • Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of geospatial technologies and state of the art practices
  • Work under supervision of senior staff, exercising professional judgment to develop recommended solutions that meet client expectations and goals
  • Ensure quality client services, and clarity of work products and projects
  • Works in conjunction with CAD operators
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
    • B.S. degree in related field, M.S. Degree a plus
    • Minimum three years of work experience as a GIS professional preferred
    • GISP certification preferred
    • Experience in the consulting field is preferred
    • Attention to detail
    • Skills using Esri ArcGIS for Desktop, including Spatial Analyst and 3D analyst
    • GIS-CAD data integration skills for effectively using CAD data in GIS
    • Demonstrated portfolio of work, demonstrating presentation of results and graphical reporting of analytical data
    • Strong skills in map and figure production and a knowledge of enterprise GIS administration and geospatial analysis. 
    • Experience using ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and Collector for ArcGIS
    • Web and mobile map application development with commercial and open-source platforms
    • GPS and tablet-based field data collection, processing, and integration
    • Database management (e.g., SQL Server,)
    • Automation and scripting using Model Builder and Python (including arcpy.mapping)
    • Capable of producing high quality products on schedule and within budgets
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Strong verbal and written (technical writing) communication skills required
    • Candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude, will be flexible and self-motivated, creative and quality-oriented and will possess an attention to detail
    • Valid driver’s license and good driving record may be required
