The message below is from James Miller from the ESRI Federal Team:
"We have been told that the Office of Senator Wyden may be looking to hire a summer GIS intern. The office has begun to use ArcGIS Online to build map products as a way to communicate with constituents, and to better understand the impacts of policy. A few examples of that can be seen here: Better Care Lower Cost Act and January Across Oregon and March in Oregon. The intern would be working with the professional staff and be expected to use ArcGIS Online to build map products for these purposes.
The internship would be at the Senator’s Washington, DC office on Capitol Hill and is an unpaid position. The dates of employment would be mid-June to mid-August. This link should help give an understanding of what the office would ask for on an application http://www.wyden.senate.gov/services/internship/, although a GIS intern’s duties would be a little different than what is described here.
If you know of anyone who may be interested in an opportunity like this, please send me their cover letter and resume. I will pass them along to the appropriate staff in the Senator’s office."
