Interested in working on GIS applications in developing settings?
Rural Health Care Initiative, is a Minnesota-based non-profit which partners with rural communities in Sierra Leone to improve health. RHCI is exploring applications for GIS in health development planning, including tracking populations, disease outbreaks, basic health needs and resource gaps in order to plan and allocate resources and services.
Immediate needs include traveling to Sierra Leone and plotting geographic boundaries of the catchment area, inventorying villages in that catchment and mapping health data collected by RHCI and development partners. Students interested in this opportunity should contact Catherine Osborne at email@example.com.
