​This position is responsible for the successful development and delivery of GIS projects through supervising and managing a project team and providing GIS services to external and/or internal clients. We are looking for an individual who has strong communication skills, possess the ability to thrive working independently in project offices, has extensive technical data management and analyst skills using ArcGIS software, and experience in GIS web and application development.

​Primary Focus Will Include:
  • Lead and manage GIS tasks for large multi-year projects for multiple design offices in Washington
  • Work with the design office to identify and implement value added services to the client
  • Supervise staff, including training, prioritizing, assigning, and reviewing work
  • Conduct spatial analysis and prepare exhibits using ESRI software (i.e. ArcMap, ArcPro)
  • Develop spatial analysis models using ModelBuilder, Python, or other GIS scripting language
  • Develop GIS applications using ESRI Web App Builder, Collector, Survey 123 within ArcGIS online platform.
  • Provide input into the business development process, such as defining proposed milestones, estimating work, documenting understanding of need and process to fulfill need.
  • Help develop standards for map production and data management and tools to create a robust GIS solution for the design office
  • Discuss and demonstrate GIS and geospatial technology at client and internal meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

​Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience in managing a GIS team for a consulting firm
  • Proficiency with ArcPro and ArcGIS Online
  • Experience with converting Microstation files into a GIS format
  • Being able to identify clients' needs and clearly communicate expectations and solutions internally and externally
  • Ability to organize, estimate, and clearly communicate GIS-related tasks and schedules.

What You'll Need
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Participates in mentoring, development, and evaluation of staff; provides guidance and training to staff.
  • Viewed as an expert resource, provides technical guidance to others.
  • Provides input in marketing strategies, including capabilities within the team, processes and methodologies used, etc.
  • Provides project coordination along with PM on projects with GIS needs, including assigning workloads, estimating hours, defining milestones and quality assurance.
  • Creates final media projects including CD-ROMs, hardcopy maps, and documentation.
  • Develops key relationships with industry sector leaders within the company.
  • Investigates and learns new technologies, especially in the GIS industry.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geography, Planning or other related field
  • 6 years experience using ESRI, Intergraph, or Bentley software products
