The Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) has an exciting and unique opportunity for a highly qualified individual to lead the Oregon Lidar Consortium (OLC) and serve as the Agency's Lidar Project and Database Coordinator.
DOGAMI is a leader in the acquisition, compilation and use of light detection and ranging (lidar) data since 2003. The goal is to provide high-quality lidar coverage for the entire state. To achieve this goal DOGAMI has formed the Oregon Lidar Consortium (OLC), which will develop cooperative agreements for the collection of high-quality lidar that benefits the public at large, the business community, and agencies at all levels of government. The Lidar Project and Database Coordinator will be on the forefront of lidar collection and analysis while working with stakeholders, partners, and agency staff to develop and implement new ways of using lidar data to meet a variety of geology, geomorphologic, geoscience and other land use and natural resource needs.
The purpose of this position is to develop, maintain, analyze, plan, integrate, coordinate and support geographic, geomorphologic and geologic based computer applications that directly support the critical business functions of the Geologic Survey.
