NEW GIP Eligibility Guideline in 2017: Geoscientists-in-the-Parks participants are considered AmeriCorps members. AmeriCorps limits the number of terms an individual can serve to four terms. If an applicant has previously completed four GIP or other AmeriCorps positions, he/she will not be eligible to apply for an additional GIP position.

NPS Geoscientists-In-the-Parks (GIP) Opportunities
The following positions are all classified as standard "Geoscientists-in-the-Parks" (GIP) Opportunities. These opportunities are designed for participants between the ages of 18 and 35 years old. They generally last 12 weeks (or more), and take place during the summer, although some positions occur during fall/winter.
