TITLE: Neighborhood Trees Specialist, “Regional NT Specialist”
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Non-exempt from overtime. Full-time (40 hours per week). HOURS: Tues-Sat schedule during planting season (Oct-May); Mon-Fri schedule during summer months (June-Sept). Some evenings as needed. Fairly flexible within that framework, establishes schedule and makes changes known. SUPERVISED BY: Neighborhood Trees Manager SUPERVISES: Volunteers. Interns as needed. PAY RATE: $52,000 annual salary; eligible for full benefits package, including 100% employer paid medical, dental and vision insurance, retirement match up to 2%, paid time off starting at 3 weeks’ vacation, 11 holidays, and sick time. In addition, the organization will be closed Dec 25-29 which does not count toward vacation. JOB SUMMARY The Regional NT Specialist will work in partnership with the NT Team, community and non-profit partners, public agencies, residents, and volunteers to foster community and environmental stewardship of our urban forest throughout the Portland-Vancouver and Salem metro regions. They will coordinate and implement volunteer-centered neighborhood tree planting projects and events, community tree care programming, and community-based tree education. The Regional NT Specialist will support our Portland/Vancouver Metro regional outreach efforts, helping respond to general NT customer support inquiries and requiring the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders/volunteers. (The ability to speak more than one language is highly beneficial.) This position will be a hybrid role that works in varied settings, including in the field, in the Portland office, and from home.
