Spatial Analytics Lead needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh’s client located in Milwaukee, WI.
The Big Picture – Top Skills Should You Possess:
  • This role has a strong focus on Geographical Information System (GIS) technology for the purpose of leveraging spatial data for enhanced consumer and brand insight to support business goals. 
  • Acts as the primary agent within a broader Consumer Insight and Analytics team responsible for maintaining the functionality of the team’s analytical toolset and spatial data assets. 
  • Is the key data and technology agent, which enables and maintains the functionality of a U.S. geographical information system (GIS) dedicated to territory management and retail point analytics utilized by Sr. Analysts. 
  • Acts as the key technical contact for team members, other internal stakeholders and suppliers to facilitate business data (internal and external) integration into spatially-enabled environments for geographically scalable analysis and reporting including, spatial data access, spatial query, mapping and business intelligence (BI) tool integration. 
  • These data include, but are not limited to, internal dealer sales, consumer demographics, competitive dealer locations, registrations, used sales, etc. 
  • Acts as a Company subject matter expert on spatial data integrity. 
  • Conducts advanced spatial analytics along with maintaining the turn-key functionality of the territory management system utilized by Sr. Analysts.  
  • May supervise Analysts / Technicians and conduct performance reviews.
What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Integrate spatial data from internal and external sources and suppliers
  • Maintain hardware, software, supplier agreements and budgets related to external data and suppliers
  • Develop quality control measures / standards associated with expected outcomes and variances of data once source data is spatially-enabled
  • Compile and analyze large quantities of data from disparate sources
  • Leverage sound dealer, local market, consumer, internal and external data
  • Maintain an insatiable drive for data accuracy
  • Communicate to stakeholders on data quality issues and required improvements necessary to spatially-enable the data
  • Supports data governance on derivation of spatially-enabled metrics and KPIs
  • Enables geographic scalability to team analysis capability
  • Supports operation of team and Spatial Analyst’s toolset (with heavy focus on GIS technology)
  • Supports training of stakeholders on spatial data and tools
  • Provides toolset technical support for, and prompt resolution to, all user-related issues
  • Acts as key point of contact with suppliers in resolving spatial analyst toolset issues
  • Maintains US Territory Management System (TMS) integrity
  • Conducts advanced spatial analytics and builds spatial models to derive deeper insights that could be integrated into existing toolsets
  • Keeps abreast to advances in technology, especially in GIS, spatial analysis, BI and big data through various training opportunities
  • Maintains process documentation on technical aspects of data flows and toolset components
  • Identify knowledge gaps and develop hypothesis to help prioritize and address key business issues
  • Work within, and adds form to, sometimes ambiguous and fast-changing work environments
  • Work with team to ensure data integrity and spatial analysis tool efficacy
  • Assists in the development of spatial tools, that have a BI focus, and utilize key internal and external data that can be leveraged by a broader stakeholder group
  • Participates and leads cross-functional process improvement and data quality initiatives
  • Explores big data solutions in problem solving
 What You Need to Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Science, Technology, Math, Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent experience.  Master’s degree preferred.  In lieu of the education requirement, a combination of relevant education and experience is accepted. The equivalent definition is two (2) years of relevant experience for each full year of education required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in applying GIS in a business environment
  • Two (2) years of experience in GIS application development
  • Visionary in converting data into market intelligence
  • Ability to connect disparate data in spatially-enabled relational database environment
  • Applied knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) and spatial data management
  • Well versed in one RDBMS – MS SQL Server, MS Access, etc.
  • Some experience with Alteryx
  • Genuinely enthusiastic about pushing technical limits / finding new solutions
  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot data integrity and system related issues associated with spatial toolsets and reports
  • Strong math and foundational statistics skills
  • Knowledge of spatial statistics and spatial models
  • Knowledge of scripting languages with focus on automating routine data processing
  • Strong cartographic skills
  • Project Management experience
  • International experience a plus
